Rosalia Molina makes organic wines in one of Spain's highest al􀆟tude wineries. Here, we are on the edge of what is possible: On a plateau at 1,100 metres above sea level, the grapes experience a large diurnal range that encourages even ripening and helps to retain natural acidity. Her bodega is named ‘Altolandon’: Alto for the al􀆟tude, Landon in reference to the nearest town, Landete. Among others, Rosalia works with the local red grape, Bobal. TSA has had eyes open for this grape for a very long 􀆟me, and has tasted hundreds of flabby, uninteres􀆟ng Bobals – Rosalia’s is the first to ever cap􀆟vate us! Rosalia's vineyards are cer􀆟fied organic, she uses only natural fer􀆟lisers, promo􀆟ng biodiversity by welcoming chickens, sheep and pigs from local farms to roam the vineyards freely. Grapes are hand harvested and vinified as naturally as possible with na􀆟ve yeasts and li􀆩le other interven􀆟on. In the cellar, both modern/interna􀆟onal and tradi􀆟onal local prac􀆟ses are implemented- Damajuanas, Tinajas, Stainless Steel and Oak. For now, we will work with Rosalia’s excellent entry level Bobal, ‘Mil Historias’. It is our selec􀆟on of the ‘thousand stories’ to tell.
