Las Cepas is an organic producer in Rioja from the village of Uruñuela, 20km south and west of Logroño in between Río Ebro and Sierra la Demanda. San Asensio and Cárdenas are to the north and south, placing us in ´Clarete-land', a significant source of quality Garnacha. This is very dry country, with a wealth of biodiversity in and around the vineyards. The lack of humidity is crucial to Las Cepas, who specialise in growing Graciano. They have around 50 hectares of vines, mostly between 40 and 100 years old, in Uruñuela, Ausejo, and Alfaro. Las Cepas is a family winery, founded by two brothers Alberto and Santiago Ramirez. Alberto is the winemaker and Santiago the viticulturalist.
