INTRODUCING A NEW ACQUISITION: Ron Ingenio Manacas Extra Añejo from Sanchez Romate

We are delighted to admit a new fellow to the TSA graduate program. Our latest acquisition is a Caribbean Rum brought to us by esteemed sherry house, Sanchez Romate.

Meet “Ron Ingenio Manacas Extra Añejo” (‘Ron’ being latin for Rum, not some mustachioed 70s relic), a premium sippin’, mixin’, cocktailin’ blend of Caribbean rums. Caribbean Rum from Jerez?? Curious, eh?  It’s a blend of rums from Dominica, Venezuela and Panama, aged for 5 years in the Caribbean in bourbon oak, then a further 3 years in Jerez in used Romate Amontillado and Oloroso Sherry butts. It’s a good story, and a great, elegant rum (the Glenmorangie of cane sugar).

Ron Ingenio Manacas Extra Añejo, $90 rrp
Vanilla, coffee and hazelnut, elegant, nutty around a creamy centre, with fresh bright rim in mouth; not terribly glyceric, extremely fine, clean spirit. Perfect for Rum Manhattans and Old Fashioneds. And, of course, we all need to work to free Cuba regularly – this makes a very fine Cuba Libre. 38% a/V.
